There are plenty of health clubs to choose from. So how do you know what's the best choice? Here are some things you can do to make a well-informed decision: - Check out the club when you'll probably exercise to be sure there's enough equipment.
- Determine if you'll be comfortable with the people who work out there.
- Look at the equipment and see if it's been upgraded and is well maintained.
- See if there's a wide variety of machines so you can change your exercise program if you want to.
- Ask about the classes they offer and whether they'll fit into your schedule.
- Find out what your membership entitles you to. Some have "tiered memberships" that don't give you access to everything the club offers.
- Learn whether or not you can put your membership on hold, if you need a specific reason, and whether you'll be charged to suspend your membership or reactivate it.
You know what you're looking for in a health club. Just remember to take the above factors into account and you won't end up stuck with a gym you don't want to use.
